Renewing Cobit 5 framework

COBIT 5, de facto IT-Governance industry standard, is being aligned with Green IT by PGF.

COBIT 5 aims to research, develop, publish and promote an authoritative, up-to-date, international set of generally accepted ICT control objectives for day-to-day use by IT professionals. The framework supports governance of IT by defining and aligning business goals with IT goals and IT processes.

COBIT 5 was released in April 2012 and consolidates and integrates the Risk IT frameworks. It aligns with frameworks and standards such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Project Management Body of Knowledge(PMBOK), PRINCE2 and The Open Group Architecture Framework(TOGAF).

PGF, like other companies in the field of Green ICT, is engaged in aligning Green IT to Cobit 5 (thus linking to above standards):

  • - Identifying governance and management processes actually impacted by Green IT initiatives;

  • - Creating Green goals and metrics for those specific processes;

  • - Identifying (and extending) stakeholders involved in an environmental perspective;

  • - Designing a structured way to easily adapt the framework according to ever-evolving best practices and standards.
